(WASHINGTON, DC) – Representatives Conor Lamb (PA-17) and Denny Heck (WA-10) introduced H.R. 6101, the Ending Passenger Rail Forced Arbitration Act.   On January 1, 2019, Amtrak revised its requirement that legal action against the company be resolved through a mandatory arbitration process.  Under this change customers waive their right to sue Amtrak in a U.S. court for any reason with the purchase of an Amtrak ticket.  H.R.

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Representative Conor Lamb (PA-17) issued the following statement after passage of H.R. 6074, the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, which provides $8.3 billion in emergency funding to address the coronavirus:

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Representative Conor Lamb (PA-17) announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is now accepting applications for multiple firefighter grant programs: Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG); Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER); and Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S).  The application period for all programs closes on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 5:00 PM.

These grants are available to eligible fire departments, nonaffiliated Emergency Medical Services organizations and State Fire Training Academies.

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Upper Ohio Navigation Project has received $7.7 million in funding for the Pre-Construction Engineering and Design (PED) phase under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) FY2020 Work Plan.  The Upper Ohio Navigation Project addresses lock condition and capacity issues at Emsworth, Dashields, and Montgomery Locks and Dams along the Ohio River.
