LAMB STATEMENT URGING THE SENATE TO TAKE ACTION ON H.R. 8 FOLLOWING MASS SHOOTINGS IN EL PASO AND DAYTON

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Representative Conor Lamb (PA-17) issued the following statement today following the mass shooting events in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio this past weekend:

“In the wake of the tragedies in El Paso and Dayton, we must take action as a nation now.  Earlier this year, I voted with my colleagues in the House of Representatives on H.R. 8 – meaningful, bipartisan legislation that requires comprehensive background checks for all gun sales.  This bill is a powerful first step to begin to address the gun crisis in America, but unfortunately is still awaiting action in the Senate.  I call on Senator McConnell to bring it to the Floor without delay.”
