LAMB MEETS WITH DEPLOYED U.S. TROOPS OVER THANKSGIVING
(WASHINGTON, DC) – Representative Conor Lamb (PA-17) traveled overseas with a Congressional delegation to meet with military leadership and deployed members of the U.S. Armed Forces during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Hosted by the U.S. Army, the delegation included members of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee on which Lamb serves as vice chair. Members visited military bases in Germany, Kuwait, and Afghanistan, and were briefed by military leaders on matters of national security. They also met with service men and women to discuss a broad array of issues, including the delivery of health care to military personnel and veterans, as well as access to military transition training and benefits.
"Spending the Thanksgiving holiday with the men and women who serve our country abroad is a reminder of the sacrifices many make to serve our country," said Lamb. "These servicemembers give up time with their family and friends to protect us, so it is critical that Congress continues to work in a bipartisan manner to ensure they get the care, support and opportunities they've earned not only on active duty, but also when they return home.”
