FEMA APPLICATION PERIOD OPEN FOR FIREFIGHTER GRANT PROGRAMS
(WASHINGTON, DC) – Representative Conor Lamb (PA-17) announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is now accepting applications for multiple firefighter grant programs: Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG); Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER); and Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S). The application period for all programs closes on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
These grants are available to eligible fire departments, nonaffiliated Emergency Medical Services organizations and State Fire Training Academies.
"It is critical that firefighters and emergency responders have the proper equipment, training and staffing to do their jobs," said Lamb. "I encourage all eligible PA-17 fire departments and emergency service organizations to review FEMA's grant guidelines and apply for these funding opportunities to help them do their jobs safely and effectively."
