FEMA APPLICATION PERIOD OPEN FOR FIREFIGHTER GRANT PROGRAM
(PITTSBURGH, PA) – Representative Conor Lamb (PA-17) announced that the application period for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) fiscal year (FY) 2020 Assistance To Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program is now open and will close on Friday, February 12 at 5:00 PM.
The AFG Program provides direct financial assistance to eligible fire departments, nonaffiliated emergency medical service (EMS) organizations, and State Fire Training Academies (SFTA). The funds provide critically needed resources that equip and train emergency personnel to recognized standards, enhance operational efficiencies, foster interoperability and support community resilience.
“Our first responders and health care workers have been on the front lines protecting all of us during this pandemic,” said Lamb. “Now more than ever, it is critical that we provide firefighters and emergency responders with the proper equipment, training and staffing to do their jobs safely and effectively. I encourage all the organizations who can benefit from these grants in PA-17 to apply now.”
For additional assistance or questions please call any of Lamb’s offices: Beaver County (724-206-4860); Mt. Lebanon (412-344-5583); or Penn Hills (412-871-2060).
