Reporting damages helps to identify county or region-specific services available for assistance. An accurate and timely assessment of damages in a disaster also helps local and state officials make the case for federal assistance if needed. Additionally, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced that low-interest federal disaster loans are now available to Pennsylvania residents and businesses affected by the flooding that occurred on June 20, 2018. The SBA declared a disaster at the request of Governor Tom Wolf.

    Today, the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs (HVAC) approved the creation and leadership of a new Subcommittee on Technology Modernization, appointing Congressman Conor Lamb (PA-18) as Ranking Member. This appointment was approved by a vote of the membership of the HVAC Committee. The Technology Modernization Subcommittee will focus on oversight of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) technology projects, including the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Modernization program.

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, the House passed H.R. 5891, the “Improving the Federal Response to Families Impacted by Substance Use Disorder Act,” bipartisan legislation introduced by Representatives Glenn Grothman (WI-06) and Conor Lamb (PA-18) that will establish and interagency task force to identify, evaluate and recommend ways in which the federal government can better coordinate responses to the opioid epidemic and carry out authorized duties. The bill passed with overwhelming bipartisan support by a vote of 409-8.
